Coming Clean with Helpling
German Cleaning Giant expands to Singapore to match the rise in demand for home cleaning services
13 MARCH 2015
Singapore, 5 February 2015:
Helpling, German online cleaning business, announced today its maiden foray into the Asian market by launching its home cleaning services in Singapore. Starting this week, consumers who are looking to hire part-time helpers to manage their home cleaning chores can visit www.helpling.com.sg to engage the service.
Helpling serves as an online marketplace that matches consumers with independent cleaning providers. It takes three simple steps to engage a helper:
1. After registering as an account user with Helping, the user will be directed to a page where the address of the place that needs cleaning will have to be keyed into the system
2. User will choose the preferred date and time for the cleaning service to take place
3. User will be contacted by Helpling after he/she submits the request
Helpling charges at a flat rate of $20 per hour, with no additional third-party cost. In addition, its secured online payment method will ensure that payment will only be processed after the job has been completed. As such, consumers will not have to worry about cleaners not showing up for work or doing a sloppy job.
According to the survey results backed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore, there are more than 140,000 Singapore households that spend more than $7,000 per year on foreign domestic helpers. Results have further concluded that many of these households would be prepared to shift to a more affordable and reliable domestic cleaning services.
In the light of the survey findings, David Zwagemaker, Country Manager of Helpling Singapore, shared, “Helpling enters the Singapore market on a timely fashion to match the increasing demand for cleaning services within Singapore’s fast-growing working class. Our service complements the dynamics of the city, where we see a rising trend of people spending more time at work and social activities and less time in cleaning and maintaining their homes. Moreover, Singaporeans seek transparency and hassle-free service when it comes to such engagement. With our user-friendly website, we are confident that Helpling will be a hit in Singapore in providing people with a one-stop home cleaning solution.”
To up the ante of user experience, Helpling will also be launching an application that is compatible with iOS and Android devices. With the launch of this application, consumers will be able to enjoy booking cleaning services on-the-go.
